Subject Selections

Choosing subjects for Years 9–10 and Years 11–12 is an important step in every student's educational journey. Our school supports students and their families as they make decisions that shape future pathways, whether exploring new electives, building on core learning areas, or planning for the HSC and beyond. With a wide range of subject options and guidance from dedicated staff, students are empowered to select courses that reflect their interests, strengths, and aspirations, paving the way for academic success and future opportunities.

Process for Students and Parents/Carers of Year 8 and Year 10

  1. Attend Subject Selection Information Session.
  2. Review the Subject Selection Booklet to see what courses are offered for the following year.
  3. Students discuss their choices with parents/carers and teaching staff to find their ideal pattern of study.
  4. Students complete and return Subject Selection and Expression of Interest Forms to the school.

Stage 6: Year 10 into Years 11 & 12

Choosing subjects for Years 11 and 12 is an important milestone, setting the foundation for HSC success and future pathways. We provide a broad selection of courses tailored to diverse interests, whether students plan to pursue university, vocational training, or enter the workforce.

Our dedicated staff offer guidance throughout the process, helping students to understand requirements, prerequisites, and how subject choices contribute to their post-school options. We encourage students and families to engage in the selection process to maximise opportunities in senior years and beyond.

Stage 5: Year 8 into Years 9 & 10

Preparing for Years 9 and 10 is an exciting step as students begin to shape their learning journey based on interests and future goals. Our school offers a range of elective subjects alongside core learning areas, giving students the opportunity to explore new topics, develop essential skills, and discover their passions.

Staff are available to support students and families in making informed choices, ensuring each student’s educational pathway aligns with their strengths and aspirations.
